    Backup ecu

Are the first weapons, and to begin with I wanted to be able to make a "good" and the reading of the backup ecu

for this reason, the first rule that I gave myself is to always do it on the bench in boot mode or bdm depends on the ecu(in my case edc17cp49 boot mode)

then the power supply, bench that voltage give?minimum how many amps should it be?

It might be useful to read it two times and compare the two files with a program?

Hello Andrea, the unit you mentioned should be mounted on the 1.6 fiat if I'm not mistaken anyways this does not matter.
for the psu I personally work on 13 volts and as the current and more than enough 3 AMP.
in my opinion there is not anything to read it several times. anyway I am like you a novice and then expect someone more experienced

You just said the ecu is for a 1.6 giulietta

In kess the included power supply is 12v 1A more I have to use a 13v connected to the ecu?

Read it several times and compare the readings because if they are equal it means that "the law well"

on the bench you can work with a power supply, bench-too 13 easily, with the power supply of the tool that works more or less 12.3/4.
no need to feed the ecu on the bench, because it is the tool that feeds it,then you have to see that tool uses, ktag has all the wiring diagrams for and and simpler, then, in my opinion, read it 2 times nothing!
as for kess,if you want to read it with the module tricore,I can tell you that the odds of being able to read it are few, unless we talk about official tools!

I tried to read it in the boot with the clamps attached to the external pins of the ecu but nothing
I think that even the official tool of the law because it belongs to the family 503, and is not in the list that can do the kess
Between a little bit of time should get the ktag and I try with the one I'm reporting

hello edc 17 is always recommended, open it up and make it to the bench .
the kess cmq gives you all the images, diagrams, and tips that apply to be able to do a good reading , proceed with the module tricore and attention to open it heats up the edges with the phone for bodybuilders possibly ..
