Try to close it physically, it is strange to think that the turbine bone whistle to a minimum due to the closure of the EGR.

According to me it COULD be a common area of the EGR, which, being closed, enters the pressure, while at a high rpm will not hear the noise because of the other noises...

And that is exactly what I was thinking, if it closes the physical and the whistle disappears it was just the EGR ;-)
