One thing I do not ? clear... but when you try to write a map ? regular practice always be a backup?? Why, then, should serve a reconstruction map or an online recovery??

if you do the reading with the serial you can only read the flash of the ecu, the backup you can do that are in the bdm, but why? read the entire contents of the ecu, then ? good idea to make a backup before write via the serial port. If the writing were to go wrong then you reopen the ecu and rewrites always in the bdm. The reconstruction of the file is only if you have not made the backup copy.
