the chip is a motorola mc68hc908 2j74y.....su other more recent versions mounts instead mc68hc912 or s912

in regard to the schedule, as I said in some previous post, you should attrezzarti with a nice kit of crocodiles/ pinzettine to draw the pins from the micro.
I usually prefer to use the crocodiles and solder a soft cable on the different pin of the micro to get to the crocodiles

I am fine as well... also because often the read errors are also due to the contacts not just perfect between the upa and micro
