    Correlation file ORI AND Checksum

    Hi to all,

    I need a information with regard to the correlation that there is between the
    the file ORI and the checksum of the same.

    I will explain the problem I came across:

    I downloaded a map that has already been modified (Defender TD5 2004) with the kess V2,
    I put the map in the ECM Titanium, and I found no Drivers, I entered it manually
    and in the window where there should be the number of checksum was in gray without numbers, I made 2 changes
    do not overdo it with the parameters (the driver only gave him the maps, injection split and fix + torque limiters).
    With the first change to the car was not in the protection; with the second change, instead, the machine at constant speed or during
    strong acceleration the car was in security (not was gas) turned the key, and put in motion
    and the problem there was until I followed the usual procedure; I returned to the previous file.
    After a few days the ECU is gone in the block, and is not lit any more (I have not been able to verify) and my friend has sent the ECU to Trent and told him that it was blocked in the microprocessor as I read 1/3 of the map and this problem I also found on the Mercedes.

    it is possible that I did wrong has to do the mapping or is it a problem that I have modified a map that has already been modified and is not an ori, and the checksum was wrong?

    It happened to me on the Audi A3, that the programmer was not wrong, the Checksum and after a few days not starting the car, it was a file issue, however, because it cannot checksum it created this problem. I do not think that you damaged the HW, but only a problem of the file.

    but as you say you "a problem of the file" do you mean that the file was corrupted or The ori not modified
    or the file already mapped that I went back to edit it?

    As I add one other thing, when I was going to change even a single BIT in the part where the
    values are FF or 255 it was to create a curve or multiple curves that passed from 0 to 255, just open the file and see it.

    It could be that?

    Hello, sometimes it happens strange things on some of the ecu on a Peugeot 207 1,6 hdi had the battery download the client off the machine after a while the customer puts back in motion the machinery to leave nn and game more at the end after the survey and it was deleted a few bits in the file of the ecu..

    Hello, I have the same problem, put the original file and see that works... it's only a problem of changes the wrong checksum or checksum wrong, even if the Kess should automatically correct in the process of writing the chk.

    Instead I use a MSB without a flash and using a programmer I have the problem of the calculation of the checksum. Someone knows the way to calculate the chk?
    I tried with the ECM but can not find the family of the ecu...

    I have done various tests with Titanium to fix CKS, starting with the map already mod. but also knowing the family to run the CKS, despite the fact that in the process of writing the programmer told me CKS correct in automatic, the car had problems, type switch on non-quick or non-constant, erratic idling, or going in recoveri, forgive all golds, then dependent on Titanium the file ori and mod working and make the changes
    Even with a program checker of the CKS asks you for a file ori for comparison.

    Salve raga,
    I solved it simply by loading the mod files working in the ECM, then I tried a DRV just for my file, and automatically I recalculated it and correct the CKS. Re-opened the mod file I was able to make all the changes that I wanted and everything is working.
    With regard to the eprom programmer, check that the adapters are not chinese or in any case not suitable, otherwise the writing will change a few bits, and the damage is done and the engine does not go in motion.
    All of this I solved by purchasing the adapter, causes the for my gq-4x...
