Let me explain better still, if I do a adv. id to a control unit or read from the body of the unit the numbers of hw and sw, and how to read around in the forum I will take the last three digits how do I know what kind of ecu ??
always by faith, to your example:
    565-788 = ???

...I know that ? a edc 16 just because? I read from your example, but on the basis of the hw and sw of each unit how do I figure out what type of edc

There is no table, and many times what you read on the body control unit does not match what c'? inside

Maybe do a ecuid with a programmer, and in a moment it should tell you what you have to do.

    I join to the topic.

I wanted to know how to identify the various units of both petrol and diesel engines of various brands.
In the forum, at the time, I have come across only and frequently in EDC15-16-17 and as a user I explained
the evolution of the ecu bosh for the Diesel.

Once you start practicing you will know which unit they mount the drive on the basis of the models and families, and maybe even visually. Or you connect with a programmer and do ecuid and you will have the info you need.
