Hello tac89 if you use the search engine as the first link is proposed to the Italian manual of the plug-in driver maker.
However, in other words, it lets you edit or create drivers of the ecm which by default you probably are not editable.
The manual will answer all your questions

I don't think there is a free version with driver maker unfortunately.
Some time ago I had searched for it too but I could not find anything.

perhaps you have not understood well the tip of andrea1,in practice you have to write drivers maker on ****** and the first result and' just driving in Italian (the official document alientech) that explains all the working of this plugin.
