Today arrived the ktag chinese. A friend of mine has the BMW x6 3.0 d with an ECU EDC17 cp45 dde8. The ktag asks before removing the ECU to connect it with a suitable cable to the OBD. Why should you do and what happens if the read request of the ID with the obdii cable?
I believe that is not you read it, same on the mini (same family).

Usuall NXP is locked with crp3. tehre is no way to update or modify anything!
