I have done several with cmd in the obd without problem.
The problem en this ecu, are the perditta coding de injectors, and other things, as the "cruise control", etc.
with these you should always make a backup bdm,I with a nissan xtrail with the renault engine,I tried pi? times in the serial, but the data is lost immo,I have heard that renault should be good
