read in bdm or serial

Then I have a question to ask you. I'm starting to immerse myself in the world of mapping, and as the first thing I wanted to extract the file from the ecu of my car was mapped a long time ago, and let you see soon as I get the rights because according to me was not very well made.
my car is a Fiat Bravo, first series 1.9 jtd 105 horses and I think that my be to do the tour as it has the socket odb.
the question is this, how do I know if a ecu I'll have to read it in bdm or if you can do it in serial?
From what I understand it is better to work on the bench even if you can do this in a serial right?

I have to say that I speak from ignorance on the matter I am now starting to experience and I don't baby food ready or things like that because I want to arrange to attend courses, I ask only for starting to get a few straight to begin to make a little bit of experience!

you have a bit of confusion..... yours is an edc15 then not expected to read bdm(scheduled for edc16).
then to make it to the tour you should use a eprom programmer type wellon,but it might be a more,
the edc15 does not have the address of the write lock in the obd recoverable only with open as some edc16,
so if you have problems in writing,with file read previously and a wellon the recoveries.
your and rewritable through the line k of the diagnostic socket, 3-way of the old fiat.surely your tool will have the info to operate on your car.

you my is an edc15 then the address of the work bench is necessary only when you cannot do it via serial right?
however, I'm still waiting for the galletto v54 I ordered that to start and hand in hand comprero what I need but still I have not got then yet I have not tried to do anything.

if your's is the first in the series not taken a diagnostic, but the diagnostic socket, 3 threads named just "fiat" from which you can always read and write to your machine, just make an adapter and you're good to go, with the v54 can do it safely.

I was interested to know the read/write bench is one of the necessary steps only when you cannot by a plug-in diagnosis, or choice of working method.

the more secure is always to have a backup of the ecu, x less widely used, then if you have a tool that works well you can only go via serial.

the edc15 you are in boot mode or am I wrong? in the instructions of the v54 is the pin out

u can read it by OBD

in other words, what changes between reading in the bdm and serial?
that in serial what I can read, and what's on the bdm?

In the serial read the flasks of the car....where are the maps...in the bdm read EEPROM and other data....anyway, these are made with gall with an adapter for the Fiat.....it's so easy!

I found among the documents of the rooster the pinout dell edc15c5 precisely the fiat bravo I tried to tried to connect it to the tour on the k-line I used the green wire,connected to supply ground and all but practically jumped a transistor of the cock by this operation, and I hope to recover it, changing it, however, if the documentation tells me so what am I doing wrong to connect?

E-mail the pin out that you used... and photos of the ecu maybe we can help..

why did you want to read it at the counter? these cable fiat 3Pin reads and writes quietly..

have you used the adapter on the rooster?

as it says in ugoboss probably you have not used the adapter

now, I can't attach photos as soon as I can I will do it, however I have used the harness with the wires to connect power supply on pin of the connectors of the ecu and I used the l adapter that goes between the rooster and the wiring then from the software I selected the car and I did the reading and it is a successful one! in doing so, but I have noticed that the socket where I plugged in the power supply of the cock was broken and you took away his power, and it happened while I was reading.
my only doubt is that on the pin of the line K of the ecu,I connected the green wire on the pin out to me put blue in color, but there is no wire of that color by doing a search on the forum I have found it written that the green of the cock wire is the K line and I connected that but I'm not sure that is correct.

No actually, it is not feasible to read in the boot.. but a simple reading tour..

here is not to be used the adapter that I remember, and to verify at the moment..

I when I have to read these or other at the desk to use the cock as if I had read it up in the car by diagnostic socket, and then use the cable obd (with adapter) and with an adapter on the plug obd with which I take the k-line and food all from the outside with a feeder part, on this then you can have the problem code and you need to remove the e2prom.

I resolved I had made a mistake from the first grade right! I had reversed the polarity from external power supply, damn it! however, I repaired to the cock and rirovato to connect it with the pin out, everything went well! anyway thanks to all for the courtesy
