I get this error when I try to connect with the ELM327 USB to my Peugeot 406.
I have searched for an answer on a lot of forums,but nothing..

if I have to be honest, I can't help you because I never had anything to do with the elm 327.
suffer from abc, elm and'? which pc do you use ? and idriver? then veduiamo to understand . that program uses for the elm?
but above all, the chip elm ? clone or ? the original?

I had the same problem too on a 406 hdi , using scanmaster and elm.. not connected.. to get it to connect I had to remove the automatic selection of communication protocols and enter it manually.

Then, it is a ELM327 clone, the USB version.

I tried with all the software for the diagnosis that I was able to find, Scanmaster, Pcmscan and also many other free. I've tried for a minimum of a dozen... and all I l the same thing: interface connection -> ok , connect the ecu ... ... ... bus init error (some only give error without specify)
the system on which I try these programs ? a clean installation of xp sp3 professional 32bit.
I have an old laptop for experiments and I can afford to format it to be sure to have everything clean.
with regard to the protocols, on the scanmaster I tried to remove the auto and try to connect by selecting one among the available ones.. on the first there is a little' and then I bus init error.. on the other, that are according to me the protocols pi? new, I immediately error..
I also tried to set by the operator perirefiche the speed? at 9600 and 34600 but nothing changes..
ah, I forgot.. at the end I bought the lexia why? I have found that ? what you can? everything on the peugeot / citroen..:cool:
a bit like I did with the vag on my old polo a couple of years ago..
with regard to the elm, the terr? them to try on other cars... at the moment I don't have the chance? to try it on another machine

I know that the vers 1.2 gave some problemuccio with the sw you mentioned.
I know for peugeot wants us to be a specific...
I have the elm version 1.5
of course, the 1.5 original does not exist.. only the clones are 1.5...
