if you don't have any backup you have to troverne one and rewrite it always BDM
the beauty of having a BDM ? just the fact that BEFORE performing any work on any ecu BEFORE you make a nice backup processor,flash and eeprom
in some cases you don't need a backup))))))
Then you should also write the map directly in the bdm...otherwise once reassembled, if things go bad in writing you have to disassemble again.
I knew that c'? some method to make it even if you do not have a backup...but I don't know what ecu and if it always works!

so guys, if you use the bdm then make a nice backup of all and write back even in the bdm given the fact that the ecu and removed it,but if you write in the serial and locked and you have no backup you can search the net or ask perhaps even in this forum cos' write back always in the bdm.

Then all the serial when they write erase the whole flash aware of it at the time of the reading, if the file has only one area that sw would be the one that changed , when you type in the serial he writes only that and if you blokkate the ecu just read the ecu in bdm and rebuild yourself the file!!!!!

If the writing were to go wrong then you reopen the ecu and rewrites always in the bdm. The reconstruction of the file is only if you have not made the backup copy.
depends, I never do a backup except for the edc17 that I always do in boot mode as those if the blokki not the resume

for safety and a good rule is to save the entire backup of the ecu, then you can easily edit and write in the serial, the important thing is to have the original copy for any problem....
