hello to all
being the first experience I ask advice of you experts if kindly you can help me:
I'm armed with galletto v54(clone),,,which from what I understand, it was not a wise choice(150 euro so I think cineseria pure),,,, to be able to delete the egr on the ecu bmw EDC16C35 (520d 163cv)and then fiddle around with mappings to experience,,,(I have an immense passion for electronics,,,,but very little knowledge in the field of software and hardware drive...),I thought I would be able to experience everything via the serial connection,I had also purchased the mpps,but thankfully after reading several of your reviews I've abandoned the mpps, and passed to the rooster,,,but from what I understand I should at least do a full backup bdm to not find myself walking right??,,,after seeing more or less the steps to run it in the bmd honestly I already made in my underpants being informed of the cost for the ecu is new..not to mention of encodings ,,,updates,,etc., I will say that these things should be left done to the professionals!,and you are perfectly right,but my passion is so strong that I could not stay out of it...(already 12 years, I have been electrocuted several pcs of the era,is a vice that port since small...)
in conclusion,I trust to do reading on the serial line,edit the file to exclude the egr with programs like after 1.2,ecu, safe or other, and rewrite all in the serial?or I find myself on foot?some other road less risciosa possible?

Hello Patrick, the best thing according to me is best to always make a copy of the reading in the bdm for each unit so that in case of trouble you always have the files available.
if you're not sure of your convenience maybe try first to remedy some ecu and do a bit of testing and practice.

vsto you have the mmps also do a reading with that.
Follow the advice of sportknight, use a battery charger nice big.
I with the mpps I made that controller without problems, but first I did make a copy of the BDM port of the ecu, of course, the clones are not all the same.
I'd be careful even with the Galletto, a long time ago a friend of mine has blocked a VW edc16u, then resumed with the original file, while with the kess and mpps, I have never encountered problems.
