View The Full Version : edc15/16 conversion to the electronic actuator turbo

munro
Hello guys
as the title thread I'm looking for a bit of info and suggeriemti for an idea that turns me in the head by a bit..
let me explain, the vast majority of turbochargers is now equipped with electronic actuators for the control of the vgt and in a lot of cars processed are fitted turbine type gtb1756vk or gtb2260vk that as I think you well know are all implemented electronically, but are converted to the use of the N75 "depression".
my idea is this: given that the n75 works in a duty cycle is I think also the attutatori work in the same way, why not manage the latter directly from the ecu as if it were a n75?
or why not manage the actuators maybe with the map of the egr which I also believe she works in the duty cycle of the species, those of the fiat group?
my problem with big is that the electrical systems are not a top to that seen, for example, the n75 is controlled by the ecu with 2 wires, as you can drive a attuattore electronic wires, it has 4 or 5?
enlighten me....

egs
But, usually, an actuator 4-wire (Example's latest EGR) have: Ground, Power, Pin position sensor, and Pin to control the Duty cycle. Usually this is the pin out.

munro
thank you for having responded egs..
leaving aside for a while the management of the actuator via the egr...and wanting to drive the actuator with 2-wire valve N75 how can you do?
the two wires N75 should be one the ground and the other to the 12v, that works in the duty cycle right?
on the actuator instead we have 5 pinout anyone have schematics to post?

munro
guys if someone of you, kindly has ******** or the sw similar could tell me the pinout of an actuator hella/garrett 6NW008412/712120?
and I would be interested as well the pin out of the box the vacuum of the vag group....Thanks

munro
I think I'm close to a solution tomorrow in the workshop I feel then place the result...

75 visits and even a little help...
I am writing to inform everyone that we are successful on edc15p vag....I connected the two wires of the valve-pierburg n75 to the actuator vgt electronic and with a few changes to the sw-ecu to the actuator it works....
but I don't think that I will post more results....me I will keep it for me....
thanks again to all for the interest..

egs
Hello munro, it seems that the only one that has responded was I, but I have been busy and I have not had the time, I had not started the scheme of the N75 VW. Shame because it was an interesting thing, in the end it was an actuator such as the egr, perhaps he had to edit the map that manages the duty cycle of the egr according to the function of the N75, there is nothing articulated I think. Anyway, congratulations, bravo.

munro
you hello egs, thanks for letting me answer you at least...
unfortunately with the electronic actuator vag does not work because this works in the can, you can..
I used another type of actuator..

Ops, I had missed this interesting discussion.
From the point of view of the management ECU surely you know more than me.
From the electrical point of view, the current absorbed by a N75 is similar to that of an actuator vgt?
Sorry if I answer with another question, but if it has a feedback device (position sensor) are you sure that this is not to be used to control the opening?

munro
both actuators work in the pwm or duty cycle..
on edc15 or 16 serves as the feedback signal, therefore, the problem does not arise...

franco75
then the only problems you may have are the frequency of the PWM and the output current.
Who knows if current consumption and working frequency are data available on the web.
Since actuators inductive I believe that these parameters are useful to help work well the actuators and do not burn any of the final unit

munro
the n75 works around 250hz at least from what I could understand....
the actuator vgt works around 300hz then I would say that we are in tolerance.
must be made some adjustment in the ecu, but otherwise is not working properly...

munro
someone please could post the pinout of the box the solenoids of the A3 2.0 tdi 140cv with engine bkd?
I'm trying to implement the electronic actuator on the car to my brother but I can't find the diagrams..
someone out there has them?

munro
to understand this better, I need the pinout of this:
