franco-in the open for sure I can tell you that that series of cars of that year and, in particular, the 1.6 they have SERIOUS problems with the filters clogging as they use the criteria of absurd, and also shortly after the 5k km to go, "untapped". That they also have problems of the control unit it seems strange, especially shortly after a few years.
If you have a unit that is similar/compatible, try to replace it and see if it starts.
The ford at once not make them anymore!
(I'm a former owner of an ESCORT 1.6 Petrol/LPG.. if it were not for an accident would still be a ride here and there)

p.s. try to start it with the spare key.. may be the starting point for problems that are not yet clear (I have heard many, but none defines the real problem).

If you are not connecting not even diagnosis you can also try to get it to start with the keys of heaven, will not start ever.
The causes may be multiple. It may for example be flooded with water or are connected to the poles of the battery, on the contrary, it could also be that some mouse has nibbled some wires. I would check first the wiring and then I would try another ecu.
You are able to retrieve the data from the E2P?

Do a full scan on all systems. The light engine lights up with the ignition turned on?

If you are not connecting even in the diagnosis, as it does to do the scan?
that said, Frank, with that diagnosis you try to enter? I know that autocom delphi have several problems with the ford. test also with elm 327 and forscan (this is an original program freeware for ford)

franco-electr

He made the diagnosis just with the Ecu engine, I meant abs, airbags, on-board network... Definitely found some error inherent to the Ecu the engine over to see if it was a problem of the can network or not.

franco-electr
I made some measurements but I have not noticed anything broken

dangy
considering that this is a very fair response

the issue has been resolved in the dealership with the ecu ,it has never happened not to me but
