I'm starting to fiddle around a bit with the ECM, and I have seen that recognizes some of the maps for? I read on the forum that c'? people with the 2d representation, there are other... With the criterion that you understand these maps simply seeing a chart in 2d? I'm confused... In some cases you need 3 values on 3 axes to make a map, how do you understand it in 2d? For example, the map egr on a 2.0 TDI PD as it is identified?

Hello DJang not ? everything so simple that you understand tic tac, on the contrary here more new units there are, the less you understand.... joke.
The maps you'll need to know as you work and learn, the sooner you'll help with the drive of the ecm even if sometimes they are not so precise, and then to understand those outside the driver takes the damos , have those already, you can have tatno as a study but c'? to lose hours and hours of time , once you understand the forms of the maps in 2d you can also find that without the drivers , even if they turn them in a different way
Then a lot of patience and a lot of willingness

Then my doubt was how it was possible to represent 3 data(for example, engine rpm, torque required quantity? to be injected) on a cartesian plane. Looking at the map injection in 2d, I realized that are represented in pi? hillocks, each of which refers to sleep n number of laps. OK, until here we are, how to understand? what are those of egr, for example? (Aside from the fact that for the edc16 need to be changed the most? maps to close the egr)just doing practice tests? Or do I edit the file, load it, and I try, or am I wrong?

Sorry, but I have the auto-corrector set on your phone. I hope you ? understand what I mean

the single curve that you see in 2d ? characterized by the axes x and z, and ? associated with a value in y
then each curve corresponds, say, to a cut of the 3d graph
if you stack all the curves you get the complete 3d map
some maps, for example, torque limiters, have a performance characteristic, and then, with a p? practice, be able to recognize at a glance
to find the maps that interest you, in general, or you trust the driver of the ECM, standing for? very careful because? often inaccurate, or damos for? we lose a lot of time
some things, however, are well known in the forum, then you just need to read a p? around to be able to find them

Thanks a lot, I'm following a course on YouTube in English on winols and slowly beginning to understand a lot of things, like that the 2 return bends before the map are the values of the axes, and to recognize the maps pi? simple. Given that you've spoken of the torque limiters thing to have especially compared to the other maps that make them recognizable?

usually, the two curves in the first map representing the values of the axes, and are called breakpoints or bp
the first ? the value of y, and the second of the x
then it depends, I have seen a few that have the bp from the other part of the file
torque limiters normally have the classical pattern of panettone, but often are not unique and may have shapes different

Also the curves of the egr are of panettone? Behold, as I could distinguish a curve egr by a torque limiter if I see them for the first time? I have to put in both tabular and understand from the values what can? represent? A professional makes it so? or can you figure it out simply from the graph?

it was just an example
let's say that, with time, some of the curves pi? or not to recognize, or at least understand what they may be
the egr are sometimes panettone, other times a single bit
depends on the type of ecu, not c'? as a general rule,

personally I ? happened with ecm2001 me to load the map pressure turbo on 1.9 SDI that ? sucked!!!

Or why? they use the same ecu or ? an error in the recognition of the driver in the ecm

However, I am following a course on YouTube in English, and I removed all the doubts, slowly beginning to recognize the maps in 2d and searching on the forum you can find everything. By the way I also realized that the ECM ? a software is too simple and limited, and many times has definitions and conversion factors wrong.

gi?, personally, I think that the only value of ecm is the immediacy of viewing
in fact, I use it only to compare files to search for maps

it certainly has serious shortcomings; for? for a beginner like me ? gi? a beginning...

I use it quite a bit and I find it a shame that as a driver we have just as much, indeed, some of them take you out of the way, in fact, I look at the maps in 2d instead in the ones that I know well I go in a table.
