View The Full Version : similar maps
What would be the similar maps in the ECM? For example, I have similar maps in the torque limiter on a edc16u31(golf 2.0 TDI) which I have to change?

Somewhere there is a selector of maps, in the specific case there is usually a switch to 3 or 4 points reported to the atmospheric pressure.
Practically on the basis of this are selected curves of the limiter.
So if I understand the ecu to change the mapping on the basis of the external pressure, then in the map of the injection of similar maps could be the engine is cold and the engine is hot, or am I wrong?

in general, often some maps have more? a variant
which one to use is selected according to the engine operating conditions, based on the coding control unit etc.
for example, if the same motor is mounted on the pi? of a model may vary slightly from the programming, but to avoid making a specific software for each one vary the maps used
another example ? the sport button that some cars have
So correct me if I'm wrong, to be sure I should change them all following the same logic, right? So that I can catch the one that uses the ecu

when in doubt, otherwise to figure out which one is used, you should make tests
you change one and see what effect it has
