doubt installation Elm

Hi today I tried x for the first time the elm cable on a fiat idea to reset the service but when I do connect I spu nta this:

CONNECTION FAILED
ELM327->ECU Connection failed!
Check the settings of the interface, COM port, pin EOBD adequate.

then there are the protocols 6f 0 6j mice I've tried them both, but nnt... I use it on win 7...

I reinstalled using the driver giarras as soon as I use it, I'll know...

Not asked to enter a code when you set up the COM port?

then the multiecuscan....near to the city of l ELM to the pc....then go to settings -----> interface -----> select ELM 1.3+ --------> Search interface ------> and then in the end you click on the Test!....... then do ok enter the ELM in the OBD rev the framework of the car and try!!!.....let me know!
