Hello to all, according to you, once you have disabled the EGR on the map ? should be close physically or not?

Exact.
Gianobo talk about a particular machine, or in general
no need to close it physically only, if you are sure that previously was not a little seized otherwise, tap it.
If ? disabled well there is no tapparla....
only if ? easy to reach, if not ? really useless...
rather, on engines with DPF avoid it :)

why?do not agree!
The machine ? a Chevrolet Captiva, I plan to disable the management of the DPF and EGR on the ecu, I still have the doubt whether or not to close physically to the valve.

it would be better to close it physically, why? from the map remains open in the very small percentage -....
according to me you should always close it why? a just a small loss to get dirty and clog up your egr, tappandola preserving the cleaning of the valve

As said giarras If it is not locked and remains open you first close it from the map if the egr works well close to the map, you remain open to the 1% and you can leave it like that.
To be sure, you should disassemble it.The egr is composed of 2 pieces in the center of them there are 3 or 4 screws,Unscrew open in the middle and controls the spring inside that moves well.,Anyway, gia ? open by a clean with degreasing products if you do not have them it is also good the svitol. Then reseal the whole and from the map you do the mod closing the egr

if the close is also mechanically much better :) it also depends on what car and ecu mounts for comfort..watch certainly already know that on some edc15 you can chiurerla directly without the need to intervene in the map!! if you tell me that car and I can give you a pretty straight...;)

? true that the egr valves are a bit open even if they don't work?
on the ones I tried I new before installation, it seems to me no, but on the internet I read something that said so..

if left open after the block in the map, meaning that the valve is not working well, that is, the flap does not close well mechanically, then it can happen, especially when surata a very long time...

it should stay open for 4% that I know of

even with a diagnosis from the control unit turns out to be open to a 4 %..

If the valve ? stuck open is fine but once that diagnosis you see that ? closed for the little that remains open is close? alone

if and closed well from the map!! in diagniosi from the 0% value then depends csosa touches you..and anyway, if it remains open, it means that does not work mechanically...

making the diagnosis on certain machines, even when ? closed by a 4% (and not working) on other from own 0%
then ? just a fact of the map, or really stays open a bit
but time works to eliminate only the erg valve? or create a mess with the dtc as when we say to delete the dpf?

on edc 15 does almost nothing! on edc 16 good! on vag and fiat goes well!

I think it's always better to close it even physically...where does not involve a lot of work. In order to avoid possible leakage. I have taken on the fiat and alfa and the plates I put them in.

if you die or vented from the egr valve, the car makes it less?
that I know of, if the valve vents the machine makes less? I leave the judgment to the technicians!
With regard to time and the valves erg, I did a comparison with and without valve, erg (total by time) with a edc17 and me ? seemed to me that he had done a reasonably good job. I say that it's okay for vag and fiat (audi, VW, seat, skoda, fiat, alfa, lancia?)
My edc17 (audi a4) with regards to the egr valve to me ? seemed correct as the has closed, what is different however for the dpf that is not there, I understood nothing of what he has done also perk? I don't know recognize the dpf in the map!
The edc5 then she does not own? but how ? can? And how would we tell them? Ecusafe do not need to anything just what I have seen!

If it is disabled from the map should remain closed, but as it fills with debris deposits may not close well physically...should be clean and ensure that there are no leaks.

Are you addressing a discussion dead more than 2 years ago.. anyway, I ALWAYS recommend getting the flange for the EGR but is made to order, not pieces of ferraccio made them so much..
I buy stainless steel specially, and the masses must be above the valve and below the engine so as to completely isolate the piping.
