yep, sorry for the two trivial questions but I'm new and I have yet to clear my ideas about this wonderful world of ODB....

for example, this ELM327 ? compatible with all communication protocols such as rs232,can,kline ect ect???
and these protocols are always present and active in the odb of any car, or any car uses a different protocol?

I'm doing a great casino with vag can kline ect ect and all this sea of information .. could someone give me an explanation of the great lines...I would like to understand better ...grazieeee

the elm327 uses the protocols you described,x as regards the cars from 2001 onwards, all the automakers x agreement must use the protocols called the standard, which are the ones that you mentioned, this still does not happen in the world of two wheels that continue to use different protocols..but soon you will adjust to them as well.

mah, so the car speaks with all the protocols present in the odb? for the case depending on which protocol you use, you can do more or less work?

also depends on the type of sw you use, example: elm+ *********** and adapters, in groppo, fiat, you can do it all, with other programs the engine management can do it in almost all of the car park, I think from 2001 onwards.
