Diagnosis Peugeot via elm327

Hi guys, as the title suggests I would like to understand how do I run a diagnosis on a vehicle peugeot.
I have a elm327 bt made in china, I worked well with my lancia lybra, but on a peugeot 206 is not able to communicate with the ecu.
It is a software problem or hardware (or both)?
I read somewhere that the cars peugeot have a different protocol, and in this regard I would ask another question, but before finish unintentionally off topic I look forward to a response from someone who has had this catch like me.

I don't know elm327 but you should try with another diagnosis and see if it communicates...

you have to use the sw scanm*ster and set the protocol and speed manually on the program.

from the label of the soft ,you should set the speed to 9600 and set the protocol in the manual.. if I remember well... as kwp...
I had the same problem on a 406hdi 110cv
